Abstract

This book is a bilingual edition in Portuguese and English, covering the main legal framework regulating GENETIC ENGINEERING in Brazil. Included are Biosafety Law No 8, 974/95 and its Regulatory Decree No 1,752/95, on the hierarchy, jurisdiction, and composition of the NATIONAL TECHNICAL COMISSION ON BIOSAFETY - CTNBio, as well as Law No 9, 257/96, creating the NATIONAL COUNCIL ON SCIENCE AND TECHNOLOGY, the highest decision-making sphere regarding issues of confidentiality.
