The Department of Agriculture shall be the responsible for taking measures for the prevention, control and extinguishing of wildland fires on government and private lands. The Director shall be responsible for implementation of measures and shall appoint Fire Prevention Officers, Burning Permit Officers and Wildland Fire Enforcement Officers. The Director may prohibit the lighting of fires in specified places during specified periods. Burning permits for wild areas shall be issued by the Department of Agriculture and the Fire Department.
