Abstract The objects of this Act, consisting of 30 sections divided into four Parts, are: (a) to provide for the permanent protection of wilderness areas, (b) to provide for the proper management of wilderness areas, and (c) to promote the education of the public in the appreciation, protection and management of wilderness (sect. 3). The Director of National Parks and Wildlife is responsible for the administration of this Act, and in particular for the identification of the areas to be protected and for their management.
