Abstract

Regulations 2 to 4 provide for the payment of trophy fees in respect of prohibited animals. No fee shall be payable for the killing or capturing of specially protected and protected animals (reg. 5). Killing or capturing of specially protected or protected animals shall be declared as soon as possible to the nearest Game Protection Officer or the local authority officer who issued the hunting licence (reg. 6). Upon declaration of any trophy, the Game Protection Officer or local authority officer shall satisfy himself that the trophy was lawfully obtained, endorse the licence with specified data, and issue a free disposal permit (reg. 7). Regulation 11 provides for the transfer of trophies and regulation 13 provides for trophy dealer's licences to be issued by the Permanent Secretary. A register of such licences shall be kept (reg. 14). The 19 regulations are completed by 2 Schedules: Free Disposal Permit (I); Trophy Dealer's Licence (2).
