It declares to be the policy of the state of Connecticut that the portion of the Eightmile River watershed which is the subject of the authorized study by the Eightmile River Wild and Scenic River Study Committee for purposes of designation as a national wild and scenic rivers system be preserved as provided for in the federal Wild and Scenic Rivers Act. It further provides for designation of portion of Lower Farmington River and Salmon Brook within the national wild and scenic rivers system; designation of the Farmington River within the national wild and scenic rivers system; and designation of the Housatonic River within the national wild and scenic rivers system, administering agency, and authorized agricultural activities.
