Abstract

This Law consisting of 17 articles and issued in accordance with Articles 5 7 of the Municipalities Law No.41 of 2015, provides for market management by establishing a Market Management Committee with the following main tasks (i) supervise the management of markets, organize their affairs, and provide the necessary requirements for this purpose; (ii) regulate and inspect market facilities; (iii) determine working days; (iv) allocateg a yard for the product intended for export; (v) determine the type and size of packages used for the products sold on the market. The marketplace has a manager in charge of (i) follow the implementation of the Committe's resolutions; (ii) prepare the budget; (iii) prepare an annual report on market activities; (iv) stop the activity of the facilities in case of violation of the provisions of this Law. The Law prohibits (i) the wholesale sale or display for the sale of any fruit and vegetable product other than the relevant market; (ii) the sale of products for export outside the space dedicated to them.
