The Act provides for the establishment of the Australian Wheat Board, defines its functions and regulates its powers. Functions of the Board include to trade in wheat and wheat products; and to make arrangements for the growing of wheat for the purposes of trading in wheat; and to promote, fund or undertake research into matters related to the marketing of wheat or wheat products. The Act also provides for the creation of the South Australian Grain Industry Trust Fund.
