Abstract

This Act provides for a better preservation of wild life in West Bengal and lays down provisions for the process for obtaining the license for hunting of wild animals, including the fees for such a license. The Act also contains provisions related to sanctuaries, business of trophy dealing or dealing of pet animals. Additionally, the Act provides for penalties for violating the provisions of the Act. The Schedule lists animals for which the whole year may be notified as close time.
