Abstract

This Act provides for the imposition of water rate in areas where water supplied from irrigation works executed, maintained or controlled by the State Government is available for irrigation. It empowers the State government to impose water rate on the occupiers of the lands which benefits or is likely to benefit from irrigation during kharif season, rabi season or summer season by water supplied from any irrigation work that is executed, maintained or controlled by the State Government. The Act also lays down the amount of the water rates to be levied.
