Goods specified in the Schedules shall comply with standards of weights and measures laid down in the said Schedules. Rule 6 makes provision for the grading of eggs. Rules 7 to 11 prescribe detailed labelling requirements for various kinds of goods. The Rules do not apply to sale of food for consumption at the premises of the vendor and the sale of goods not exceeding fifty grams or fifty millimetres. Schedules include: Goods to be sold by weight (1); Goods to be sold by weight or number (2); Goods to be sold by measure or capacity (3); Standard quantities for pre-packed goods (6); Manner of selection of samples (9); Procedure for the determination of quantity (10).
