A supplier of a measuring instrument shall not supply, sell or deliver water meter which is not verified and without prior approval by the Commissioner for Weights and Measures. A water utility shall ensure that water meter for settlement of water consumption meets the requirements of these Regulations. The Weights and Measures Agency may appoint an agent to conduct verification of water meter on its behalf. A water utility shall, after obtaining the approval of the Commissioner, use internal control instead of re-verifications. Any person who contravenes the provisions of these Regulations commits an offence and shall be liable, on conviction, to a fine as provided under the Act. Full text English Website www.tanzania.go.tz
