Abstract The present Act lays down provisions on waterworks in the Canton of Uri. In particular, it applies to public surface waters and to the water police. Waters are to be dealt with in such a way that water, bed-loads and snow can flow off and that buildings and cultivated soil are not to be endangered. The text consists of 57 articles dealing with general provisions, state of waters, organization of works to be carried out, waterworks and maintenance of waters, costs of waterworks, private waters, public waters, police responsible for waterworks, legal aid and right to appeal.
