The Board shall, except for rural water supply areas, have the control and administration of all waterworks and all the water in such waterworks and the management of the supply and distribution of such water in accordance with this Act. The Board shall have also powers to construct waterworks and shall, for this purpose and subject to the Public Roads Act, have certain rights regarding private land. The Act provides rules regulating the public supply of water and the operating of sewage systems by the Board. It furthermore, among other things, makes provisions for supervision and control of activities of the Board and declares damaging of waterworks and pollution of water sources to be an offence.
