Abstract

These Regulations, made by the Minister responsible for the environment, in exercise of the power conferred by section 39 of the Water Resources Act 1975, prohibit the discharge of sewage in “no-discharge zones”, i.e. near land, in specified areas and in protected area by paragraph 2 of the Fisheries (Protected Areas) Order 2000. The Regulations define certain requirements for boat equipment for purposes of preventing discharge.
