Abstract

The present Act lays down provisions relating to the management of water resources. The Act shall apply to the following bodies of water: water permanently or temporarily flowing or standing in beds or flowing quickly from springs (surface waters); the sea between the shore line at mean high tide for the seaward limitation of surface waters and the seaward limitation of the sea at the coast (coastal waters); and the groundwater. The text consists of 45 articles divided into 6 Parts as follows: Common provisions for waters (1); Provisions for surface waters (II); Maintenance and extension (III); Flood protection (IV); Water management planning; Water Register; supply and transmission of information (V); Penalties and final provision s(VI). Two Annexes are enclosed.
