There are provisions regarding duties of the Board including the duty to advise the Minister on the control, regulation and development of water resources in the country as well as the prevention of pollution of rivers and other water resources (sect. 2). The Board is also charged with preparations of comprehensive and integrated plans for the conservation, utlization, control and development of groundwater resources. Section 3 establishes an Advisory Committee to the Water Resources Board including its memebership and composition.
