The Code describes the main risks of causing water pollution from different agricultural sources. It does not include fish farming. In each section, good agricultural practice is set down in a way which minimises the risk of polluting water while allowing economic agricultural practice to continue. The proposed practices will minimize the risk of causing pollution to surface water and groundwater by substances including pesticides and fertilizers. This Code is the Statutory Code for Jersey and takes priority over the MAFF Water code.
