Abstract This Plan, consisting of nine Chapters divided into 43 sections, sets the management plan for water resources in the Boyne River Basin. The purposes of the plan are: to define the availability of water in the plan area; to provide a framework for sustainably managing water and the taking of water; to identify priorities and mechanisms for dealing with future water requirements; to provide a framework for establishing water allocations; to provide a framework for reversing, where practicable, degradation in natural ecosystems. Chap. 2 establishes plan area and water to which plan applies; Chap. 3 the outcomes for sustainable management of water; Chap. 4 regulates the performance indicators and objectives; Chap. 5 specifies strategies for achieving outcomes; Chap. 6 deals with monitoring and reporting requirements; Chap. 7 establishes Proposed arrangements for implementing and amending this plan.
