The present Law lays down provisions relating to water rights in the Canton of Schwyz relating both to all groundwater and surface waters. Everyone has the right to use public waters for shipping, taking water, bathing and diving. However, by doing so the quality of the water must not be affected. The text consists of 54 articles divided into 7 Parts as follows: General provisions (1); Use of potable water and water for other uses (2); Use of water power (3); Waterworks (4); Final provisions (5).
