Abstract

The Water Fluoridation Regulation 2020 is organised in 7 Parts and 2 Schedules. Part 1 Preliminary; Part 2 concerns fluoride forms and concentrations; Part 3 applies in relation to a public potable water supplier adding a fluoride compound to a public potable water supply and establishes quality standards of fluoride compounds and criteria to use automatic fluoride dosing equipment and operators; Part 4 applies in relation to a public potable water supplier adding naturally occurring fluoride to a public potable water supply and concerns water blending equipment and operators; Part 5 prescribes requirements in relation to (a) analysing a public potable water supply to which fluoride has been added by a public potable water supplier; and (b)recording and reporting the results of the analysis. Schedule 1 lists fluoride concentrations by local government areas and Schedule 2 classifies impurities affecting public health.
