Abstract

This chapter of South Dakota Codified Laws concerns board of directors of water development districts. More specifically, it provides for initial board of directors, election and terms; number of directors and qualifications; directors to continue in office following realignment of district, election, and terms of office; adjusting number of directors, and redistricting; nomination of director candidates; certification of nominating petitions, ballots, and primary election; run-off elections for initial directors; notices of elections; certification of election; commencement of directors' terms, and vacancies; directors to provide for compensation and reimbursement of board members; officers of board of directors; quorum of board of directors; and directors of Central Plains, East Dakota, James River, and South Central districts.
