Abstract

This Chapter contains general provisions for the purpose of the Water Code of California. It provides that provisions of the Code, in so far as they are substantially the same as existing statutory provisions relating to the same subject matter, shall be construed as restatements and continuations thereof, and not as new enactments and provides other rules relative to interpretations, legal proceedings and law enforcement carried out under provisions of the Code and other matters affecting the Code. It also gives definitions of the “Department”, “Director” “Board”.
