Abstract

This Part of Division 6 of the Water Code of California requires an agricultural water supplier (defined in Section 10608.12.) to prepare and adopt or update every five years an agricultural water management plan in the manner set forth in this Part. A water supplier that indirectly provides water to customers for agricultural purposes shall not prepare a plan pursuant to this part without the consent of each agricultural water supplier that directly provides that water to its customers. The Act sets out contents of a plan. An agricultural water supplier shall implement the plan adopted pursuant to this Chapter in accordance with the schedule set forth in its plan, as determined by the governing body of the agricultural water supplier. The California Environmental Quality Act does not apply to the preparation and adoption of plans pursuant to this Part. This Part does not exempt projects for implementation of the plan or for expanded or additional water supplies from that Act.
