Abstract This Act concerns waste reduction and waste recovery. It provides for the establishment of an advisory committee for matters related to waste reduction and waste recovery and also for the establishment of an environmental fund. Under section 4, the Commissioner in Executive Council may establish programs in respect of waste reduction or recovery. Section 5 prohibits the use of materials or packaging that cause significant impairment of the natural environment. The Act also covers inspections, enforcement and offences and penalties.
