The Act contains 49 Articles divided into 7 Sections with regard to responsibilities for waste management, planning, operations and waste generation and disposal; designation of wastes, waste levies, registration and licensing of private waste operators; designation of waste service areas, powers of waste management operators, standards and operating procedures and reporting by the operators. Section 6 of the Act describes implementing certain conventions with regard to hazardous wastes and the precautionary principles. Last part of the Act outlines the offences relating to wastes.
