Abstract

This Act makes provision for the administration and management of waste collection and disposal operations in Norfolk Island and defines offences for purposes of pollution control. It also concerns the removal and disposal of asbestos. The executive member may publish Guidelines for the operation, use and management of Waste Management Centres and other places used to dispose of waste or waste management facilities designated by the executive member. A person must not deposit waste at a Centre except in accordance with the Guidelines. The Act grants regulation-making powers to the Administrator.
