Entry into force notes
The present Law enters into force on 1 January 1996.
Abstract

The present Law enforces and completes the federal legislation on waste disposal and waste management. In particular, the Law aims at protecting human beings, animals and plants, as well as their living spaces against harmful effects or nuisance, and at conserving and improving the quality of air, water and the soil. The text consists of 42 articles divided into 6 Parts as follows: General provisions (I); Treatment of waste (II); Tasks of cantons and municipalities (III); Penalties (IV); Transitional and final provisions (V); Entry into force (VI).
