Abstract This Law provides for establishment of a competent fund for the financing of nuclear technology disposal. The aim of the fund is to finance the costs for safe disposal of the radioactive waste. The Law describes disposal costs as cost of the intermediate storage and final disposal of the radioactive waste which according to the Disposal Transition Act and the Atomic Energy Act should be reimbursed. The Law verifies tasks and organisation of the fund, the board of trustee, board of directors, fund assets and use of the funds to fulfil fund’s purposes. The fund prepares annual financial and economical plannings and nominates account for institution’s payment. Relevant authorisations, regulations and supervision are conducted by the Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Energy in agreement with the Federal Ministry of the Finance and the Federal Ministry of Environment, Nature and Nuclear Safety. The Law consists of 15 Articles as: 1. Establishment, purpose and seat; 2. Definitions; 3. Duties and organisation of the fund; 4. Board of trustees; 5. Board of directors; 6. Articles of Association; 7. Fund assets; 8. Early payment in instalments, obligation to make additional payments; 9. Investment of funds; 10. Use of funds; 11. Principles of economic management, financial and economic planning; 12. Bookkeeping, accounting and auditing; 13. Supervision; 14. Dissolution; 15. Authorisation to issue ordinances. Annex 1 of the Law provides a list of nuclear fuels. Annex 2 of the Law lists the amounts of the nuclear power plant.
