Entry into force notes
This Act enters into force on 1 May 2004, except for § 138 of this Act which enters into force on the day following publication of the Waste Act in the Riigi Teataja.
Abstract

This Act provides the general requirements for preventing waste generation and the health and environmental hazards arising therefrom, for organizing waste management with the objective to reduce the harmfulness and quantity of waste, and liability for violation of the established requirements. The following do not fall within the scope of application of this Act: (a)pollutants and effluents emitted into the ambient air; (b) waste water; (c) radioactive waste; (d)waste containing explosive mater
