Abstract

This Act, consisting of 139 sections divided into thirteen Parts and completed by one Schedule, aims to regulate the provision of veterinary services by veterinary surgeons to ensure the following issues: (a) the provision of veterinary services is focused on the welfare and protection of animals; (b) veterinary surgeons provide veterinary services professionally and competently; (c) occupational discipline mechanisms for a veterinary surgeon found to have acted unprofessionally or incompetently. Part 3 establishes registration requirements for Veterinary surgeon.
