Abstract

The present Law lays down provisions relating to the Public Veterinary Service and the official control of foodstuffs. The Public Veterinary Service promotes and protects the health and well-being of animals, contributes to enhance livestock, protects human beings against risks caused by animal disease and contributes to high quality food of animal origin. The text consists of 6 articles as follows: Tasks of the public Veterinary Service and the official food control (1); Authorities and facilities of food control services and the veterinary service (3), Veterinaries (3); Granting of quality (4); Implementation of surveillance tasks (5); Empowerments under the Infant Food Law (6); Transitional provisions (7).
