This Law enters into force on the day after its publication in the Official Gazette.

Abstract

This Law regulates the area of animal health protection, implementation of veterinary public health measures, improvement of animal reproduction, veterinary protection of the environment, official controls and inspection supervision in the veterinary field. This Law further sets the terms for organization and implementation of animal health and welfare measures and the implementation of veterinary public health measures (also offences and consequential penalties, Chapter VI; all penalty provisions based on Community Regulations). Animals in terms of this text are animals from the equine family (horses, donkeys, mules, mules, etc.), animals from families of ungulates (cattle, sheep, goats, pigs, etc.), poultry, chickens, turkeys, geese, ducks and others birds reared or kept for the production of meat, hatching or table eggs and other products and wild birds for breeding and production), ornamental, foreign and wild birds and mammals, dogs, cats, rabbits, bees, mulberry silkworms, pollinating insects and other arthropods, fish, crabs, frogs, snails, other molluscs, bivalve molluscs, sea urchins, turtles and other reptiles, molluscs, game, animals intended for experiments and as reproductive material.
