Abstract

This Veterinary Instruction establishes that only clinically healthy day-old ostriches (Struthio camelus) and hatching eggs originating from farms (hatcheries) and administrative areas free of infectious animal disease, including African swine fever, foot-and-mouth disease, Newcastle disease and ornithosis may be imported into the country. Hatching eggs shall be obtained from healthy birds that comply with veterinary requirements. Only birds, or hatching eggs of birds, that have not been fed GMOs containing animal feedstuffs shall be authorized for export.
