The Act also aims to ensure the supervision of food safety and the health and wellbeing of animals. It applies to veterinary services, to the supervision of hygiene in the primary production of food of animal origin, other supervision of food safety and supervision of hygiene in animal husbandry, to the control and prevention of animal diseases and to animal welfare.
