Veterinary and sanitary requirements No. 13-8-01/1-14 regarding import to the Russian Federation of twenty-four-hours' old poult, turkey-poult, ducklings, goslings and incubative eggs of these species of poultry.

Abstract

Healthy poult, turkey-poult, ducklings, goslings and incubative eggs of these species of poultry are admitted to the territory of the Russian Federation on condition that they come from infectious animal disease free farms and administrative territories. Paternal flock of poult and turkey must be examined by serologically by pullorum disease antigen. Twenty-four-hours' old chickens (except for broilers) must be vaccinated against Marek's disease. Incubative eggs must derive from poultry that comply with the aforesaid veterinary requirements. Incubative eggs must be disinfected in accordance with the methodology adopted in the exporting country not less than two hours after the eggs have been laid directly before the dispatch. Chickens and incubative eggs selected for export must derive from paternal flock that has not been fed by feedstuffs produced with the use of genetically modified additives or other genetically modified sources. Package and packing material must be disposable. The compliance with these Veterinary and sanitary requirements must be certified by veterinary certificate, signed by the state veterinary inspector of the exporting country and composed in the language of the country of origin and in Russian. Veterinary certificate must contain the date of diagnostic examinations and the date and type of vaccination of paternal flock. Dispatch of poultry and incubative eggs to the Russian Federation is possible only after the authorization issued to the importer by Veterinary Department of the Ministry of Agriculture and Food. After the delivery to the territory of the Russian Federation and passing of border veterinary inspection the poultry is placed in quarantine for 30 days into special quarantine stations. In this period of time all the necessary diagnostic examinations are carried out under the supervision of the territorial state animal institution. Preventive immunizations carried out in accordance with schedule of anti-epizootic arrangements for each specific region.
