Abstract

The purpose of this Veterinary and Sanitary Instruction is the implementation of rodent extermination measures to protect cattle and poultry farms against infectious and invasive diseases. Such measures shall be carried out on an ongoing basis in all structures, open areas and an adjacent sanitary protection zone. Preventive measures shall be taken where rodents are not yet present; where rats are present extermination measures shall be followed by preventive measures. Farm premises shall be cleaned regularly and the remnants of fodder shall be removed. Each farm shall elaborate plans and schedules for rodent extermination. The instruction recommends the use of poisoned bait (with poisons authorized for use on the territory of the Russian Federation).
