Abstract The Act makes provision for the registration and control of veterinary surgeons and animals health assistants (sects. 5-16) and the proper practice of veterinary surgeonry. A body called the Veterinary Board shall be established for the purpose of implementing this Act (sect. 3). Decisions of the Board with regard to registration or striking of the register of surgeons and assistants may be appealed against with a Veterinary Appeal Tribunal established for that purpose (sects. 17, 18 and Schedule 2). The Board is empowered to make, with the approval of the Minister, Regulations to implement provisions of this Act (sect. 20).
