The Union established at article 1 has the main following objectives (i) upgrade the profession of veterinary medicine and raise the scientific and professional level of its members; (ii) organize members' relationships with each other, create job opportunities, develop a spirit of cooperation among them, and provide social services for them and their families; (iii) organize members’ relations with State agencies, institutions and individuals, defend their rights, and enable them to perform their duties; (iv) coordinate the efforts to achieve national goals in livestock, fish and poultry development, raising their production efficiency, combating animal diseases and common diseases between humans and animals, and monitoring animal products; and (v) promote the exchange of information and experiences with Arab and international bodies, institutions and associations, whose objectives are consistent with the objectives of the Union.
