Abstract This Act, consisting of 60 sections divided into ten Chapters and five Schedules, establishes the Self Reliant Cooperatives Act. It applies for the whole State of Uttaranchal and aims to provide for the formation and transformation of cooperatives as self reliant, self help, mutual aid, autonomous, voluntary, democratic, business enterprises, jointly owned, managed and controlled by their members for their economic and social betterment, through the financially gainful provision of core services which fulfill a common need felt by them, and for the matters connected therewith or incidental thereto, be it enacted by the Legislature of the State of Uttaranchal in the 54th year of the Republic of India.
