Abstract This Act, consisting of 13 sections divided into four Parts, prohibits uranium mining and the construction and operation of nuclear facilities in the nuclear fuel cycle in New South Wales. Under section 6, this Act has effect notwithstanding any other Act or law to the contrary. The prohibition on uranium mining also covers exploration for such resources. Under section 9, nothing in any other Act authorises an authority of the State to construct or operate, or to approve or permit the construction or operation of, a nuclear reactor for the purpose of generating electricity or any other form of energy.
