The timeframe of the Action Plan is 5 years between 2013 and 2017. The main objectives of this Action Plan are (i) flood prevention, (ii) soil conservation by impeding sediment transport, (iii) forest rehabilitation and afforestation, (iv) institutional capacity building and public awareness-raising to ensure sustainable use of natural resources, (v) improvement of research and development studies. This Action Plan will be implemented by projects regarding afforestation, erosion control, terracing, sloppy land rehabilitation, rehabilitation of flood brooks, rehabilitation of rangelands and degraded forests.
