The purpose of the Law is to promote the breeding and production of the said animals in such a way as to: 1) improve their performance and the productions of animal products with a view to improve their health; 2) promote animal products; 3) implement the latest scientific practice in breeding; and 4) conserve the genetic variety of animals. The text consists of 29 articles divided into 5 Parts as follows: General provisions (1); Breeding organizations, assessment of breeding value and publication of data (2); Transfer of breeding animals and semen, egg cells and embryos and their use (3); Competent authorities, Animal Breeding Commission, monitoring, export, ordinance, penalties (4); Final provisions (5).
