Abstract The purposes of the underwater research and application center of the Duzce University are (i) to take inventory of the underwater cultural heritage by conducting archeological and oceanographic research in inland waters and (ii) to organize social activities such as water sports training, scuba diving and coastal cleaning etc. in order to strengthen the link between local people and the sea. The archeological and oceanographic research includes identification of the underwater cultural heritage, geological and geophysical studies, analysis of seawater and freshwater chemistry, aquatic biodiversity research etc. This Regulation sets forth provisions on the purpose, scope, management and administration of the center of the Duzce University.
