Operations relating to groundwater shall be notified to the Permanent Secretary and records shall be kept on such operations in accordance with this Act. The Act states certain exemptions on this rule. No person shall abstract, divert, obstruct or use underground water unless under licence granted by the Minister. Abstraction, diversion, obstruction or use of underground water may be deemed a public purpose in accordance with the Land Acquisition Act and it shall be lawful for the Crown to acquire property for such purposes.
