Abstract

This Act establishes the Uganda Trypanosomiasis Control Council as a body corporate and defines its objectives, functions and powers. The Act also confers power on the Minister to transfer assets and property of the Coordinating Office for the Control of Trypanosomiasis to the Council. The Council shall implement a programme adopted by the working party of representatives of the Government of Uganda and of the donor community for tsetse and trypanosomiasis research and control. It shall also advise the Government and formulate policies regarding tsetse and trypanosomiasis prevention and control.
