Abstract

This Act establishes the Uganda Tea Authority and defines its functions and powers. The Authority shall be governed by a Board. The Authority shall be exclusively responsible for the export and marketing of tea outside Uganda and perform functions relating to the growing, harvesting and processing of tea. In addition, the Act introduces a system of licensing of cultivation or manufacturing of tea and provides rules relative to tea growing.
