The purpose of the Law is to promote the breeding and production of the said animals in such a way as to: 1) improve their performance and the productions of animal products with a view to improve their health; 2) promote animal products; 3) implement the latest scientific practice in breeding; and 4) conserve the genetic variety of animals. The text consists of 31 articles divided into 6 Parts as follows: General provisions (1); Breeding organizations, assessment of performance, assessment of breeding value (2); Transfer of breeding animals, transfer and use of semen, egg cells and embryos (3); Promotion (4); Competent authorities, Animal Breeding Committee, surveillance, external trade, ordinances, penalties (5); Transitional and final provisions (6).
