Abstract This Notification lays down the specific requirements for the composition, labelling, presentation and advertising with regard to diet replacement for weight control products. Total diet replacement for weight control products may only be placed on the market in case they comply with this Notification. The rules concerning providing food information to consumers and nutrition values on labels are governed by the Turkish Food Codex Regulation on labeling and provision of food information to consumers (Article 7 and 8), rules concerning the use of food additives are governed by the Turkish food codex regulation on food additives (Article 10), rules concerning the use of flavourings are governed by the Turkish food codex regulation on on flavourings and certain food ingredients with flavouring properties (Article 11), rules concerning contaminants are governed by the Turkish food codex regulation on contaminants in foodstuffs (Article 12), rules concerning pesticide residue limits are governed by Turkish food codex regulation on maximum residue limits of pesticides in foodstuff (Article 13), rules concerning hygiene are governed by the Regulation on food hygiene, the Regulation on special hygiene rules for food of animal origin and the Turkish food codex regulation on microbiological criteria (Article 14), rules concerning residue limits of veterinary drugs are governed by the Turkish food codex Regulation on residue limits classification of pharmacologically active substances in foodstuffs of animal origin (Article 15), rules concerning the packaging are governed by the Turkish food codex regulation on materials and articles which are intended to come into contact with foodstuffs (Article 16), and rules concerning transport, storage, sampling and analysis are governed by the Turkish Food Codex Regulation (Article 17 and 18). This Notification is drafted in line with the Commission Delegated Regulation (EU) 2017/1798 supplementing Regulation (EU) No 609/2013 of the European Parliament and of the Council as regards the specific compositional and information requirements for total diet replacement for weight control.
