Entry into force notes
This Notification enters into force on the day it is published in the Official Gazette.
Abstract

This Notification lays down rules for hygienic and technically appropriate production, processing, conservation, transport, storage, marketing of and the standards for milk. This Notification shall not apply to raw milk. Raw milk used in the milk production shall be in compliance with the Regulation on special hygiene rules for food of animal origin. The rules concerning the use of food additives in milk are governed by the Turkish food codex regulation on food additives (Article 6), rules concerning residue limits of pharmacologically active substances are governed by the Turkish food codex Regulation on residue limits classification of pharmacologically active substances in foodstuffs of animal origin (Article 7), rules concerning the use of flavourings are governed by the Turkish food codex regulation on on flavourings and certain food ingredients with flavouring properties (Article 8), rules concerning the addition of vitamins and minerals and other substances are governed by the Turkish Food Codex Regulation on the addition of vitamins and minerals and of certain other substances to foods (Article 9), rules concerning contaminants in milk are governed by the Turkish food codex regulation on contaminants in foodstuffs (Article 10), rules concerning pesticide residue limits in milk are governed by Turkish food codex regulation on maximum residue limits of pesticides in foodstuff (Article 11), rules concerning hygiene are governed by the Regulation on food hygiene, the Regulation on special hygiene rules for food of animal origin and the Turkish food codex regulation on microbiological criteria (Article 12), rules concerning the packaging of milk are governed by the Turkish food codex regulation on materials and articles which are intended to come into contact with foodstuffs (Article 13), rules concerning labelling are governed by the Turkish Food Codex Regulation on labeling and provision of food information to consumers (Article 14), rules concerning nutrition and health claims on labels are governed by the Turkish Food Codex Regulation on nutrition and health claims made on food (Article 15), rules concerning food enzymes are governed by the Turkish Food Codex Regulation on food enzymes (Article 16), and rules concerning transport, storage, sampling and analysis are governed by the Turkish Food Codex Regulation (Article 17 and 18). Furthermore, the administrative sanctions applicable to infringements of the provisions of this Notification shall be imposed in accordance with the Law No. 5996 on veterinary services, plant health, food and feed.
