This Notification enters into force three months after its publication in the Official Journal.
Abstract

The aim of this Notification is to ensure that meat and meat products are produced with the right technique and sanitary procedures. It sets forth the rules and procedures of the preparation, processing, labelling, conservation, storage, transportation and marketing of meat and meat products. The Notification also sets out the product features of meat and meat products covered by the provisions of this Notification such as: raw red or poultry meat, minced meat, meat preparations. The rules concerning the use of food additives in meat and meat products are governed by the Turkish food codex regulation on food additives dated (Article. 8), rules concerning contaminants in meat and meat products are governed by the Turkish food codex regulation on contaminants in foodstuffs dated (Article. 10), rules concerning pesticide residue limits in meat and meat products are governed by Turkish food codex regulation on maximum residue limits of pesticides in foodstuff (Article. 11), rules concerning veterinary drug residue limits are governed by the Turkish food codex Regulation on residue limits classification of pharmacologically active substances in foodstuffs of animal origin (Article. 12), rules concerning hygiene are governed by the Regulation on special hygiene rules for food of animal origin (Article. 13), rules concerning the packaging of meat and meat products are governed by the Turkish food codex regulation on materials and articles which are intended to come into contact with foodstuffs (Article. 14).
